 Competition License and Membership

Overview

You need both a NASA Membership and a NASA Rally Sport Competition License to compete at any rally event except a rally cross. The first provides access to insurance and a subscription to Grassroots Motorsports. The second is your competition license.

All licenses and memberships can be purchased at the event during registration. NASA Rally Sport East manages all States East of Mississippi. NASA Rally Sport West manages all States West of Mississippi. (See map below.) Further information about the licensing can be accessed by downloading the rules.

NASA Membership

Membership in the National Auto Sport Association will make you part of a large family of motorsports enthusiasts! The membership is good for twelve months from the time of purchase. If you send in your application to the national office you will have your card in about a month. You can also purchase or renew your membership online. It will provide you many benefits such as:

For new NASA memberships download the NASA Membership application and mail it to the NASA head office in California, with a check payable to NASA:

If you already hold a NASA membership you can renew it online (do not use this online form if you are applying for a brand new membership).

NASA Rally Sport Competition License

The NASA Rally Sport License is good for the calendar year in which they are issued.
  1. New Rally Licenses: For those who are new to rally, you will need to become a member of NASA, hold a valid driver's license, and attend a rally licensing seminar or NASA driving school in order to get a rally license. A Rally Licensing Seminar will be held prior to each NASA Rally Sport. At that time you will participate in a briefing on rules, safety, and competition etiquette.

  2. Existing License Holders: Competitors who hold an existing rally competition license from another sanctioning body may apply for a NASA rally license without attending the licensing seminar or a driving school. However, you must first become a member of NASA to obtain a NASA rally license.

  3. Previous Rally License Holders: Competitors who have held a rally competition license within the last three years may join NASA and apply for a NASA rally license. These license holders must attend the Rally Licensing Seminar prior to their first NASA rally event to review rules and safety procedures.

Download the NASA Rally Sport Competition License application and mail it to the respective NASA Rally Sport office for your part of the country with a check payable to "NASA Rally Sport".

If you already hold a NASA Rally Sport license you can renew it online (However, initial license applications must still have signed forms sent in).
