		  <description>
Sandblast Rally will be sending the first racers out of the starting gate this weekend, on Saturday February 9th. The annual stage rally event, based in Cheraw, South Carolina, will be storming into the Sand Hills State Forest in the early morning. The rest of the day will see cars and motorcycles blasting down the closed roads at full speed.
The rally, which has been running in the area since 1992, has grown quickly over the last several years. With over eighty teams entered, the rally is easily larger than any other stage rally in America. Last year saw 40% growth, and this year the entrants are up 30% over 2007.

Section 3.6.22 regarding helmets suffered an oversight in updating for the 2007 edition. Overall,
the rule as written stated that SA2000 helmets will be required in 2007. This is the intent, and
SA95 helmets are not allowed. Here is the new 3.6.22, effective immediately:

			3.6.22 Helmets
All members of the crews competing in events pursuant to these rules must wear helmets with one of
				the following ratings:
					1. Snell Foundation SA2000 or newer
					2. British Standard 6658-85 Type A/FR, including all amendments
					3. SFI Spec 31.1 or 31.2

Sandblast Rally occurred this weekend and it ushered in a new
day for motorcycle competition. NASA Rally Sport’s first rally
to include its RallyMoto™ program brought twenty nine pioneers to
the start of the stage line on just two wheels.
The road conditions, which ran the gamut from hard
clay to deep soft sand, combined with a forest of open pine trees,
reminded many competitors of the Portugal stages which open what is
undoubtedly the penultimate event for motorcycles, the Dakar rally

Thanks for all your interest in the RallyMoto&amp;trade; program. Following please find an update
			 on progress on the program.

On Monday, we had a conference call with Charlie Rauseo and Mike Krynock to discuss various
aspects of the events. Jonah Street has also given us input, but was unavailable for the call.
We have also received numerous calls and e-mails of folks interested in competing, promoting, helping organize,
or otherwise being involved in the events, with much input which has been of great help.
Your feedback and involvement is greatly appreciated.
