Volunteers:
We could use as many people as we can get our hands on. Primarily volunteers would be course workers--start, finish, timing, scoring, etc. At the moment we believe that dedicated HAM workers will not be necssary. The more volunteers the quicker things will run and the less we will rely upon any of the competitors for any "work". If need be however, the event will run like your local Rallycross with competitors being "tagged" with working while others race and then swapping out. Stage Info:
A common question has been: How many miles will the event be? and How many miles will each stage be? While I can't be specific about either at this point given I haven't mapped it out exactly to this point I am estimating in excess of 20 total miles but less than 60 total miles. Somewhere between 30-40 total miles would be a reasonable expectation. As to each individual stage I would again give a range, this time being somewhere more than 2 miles but less than 5 in length though if I can create a "loop" vs. a straight run out/stop/regroup/run in reverse stage we might be able to push the 5 mile length. I will be visiting the facility in the next month to map out a "hard" route and will be videotaping and measuring at that time with the info to be released upon my return.

Schedule
Saturday 11/10/12

We will be using the standard Rally-Sprint-In-A-Box schedule with modifications. Please note that sunset is at approximately 5PM on this date and location.

6am - waiver signing and safety check starts
8-9 - recce (1 pass down and back) and stage set up/completion
9-10 - Built in hour to accomodate delays
10:01 - first car (Group 1) off, one pass down and back for Group 1
15 minute break to set up for Group 2
One pass down and back for Group 2 (continue as above)
1-2 (approx)break for lunch
2-2:15 setup for next Group
2:15-6 - repeat as above
7:00 - dinner

This schedule will be entirely flexible and change as conditions warrant. Please bring your lunch/food/fuel as necesary to the site as supplies are not within immediate (read 5 minutes or less) from the location. If you are not present at the time needed the event will move forward without you.

Philosophy:
This is a casual event run on a non-casual schedule. It doesn't count for points for anything and there is no cash prize for winning. So while the primary purpose is to have fun, test your car, race in a new location with hopefully new people and new vehicles, the secondary goal is to get as much mileage in as possible. While things will not be rushed at the expense of safety the intent is to keep the pace "brisk". If you need to fix something, fix it and get back in line at the next opportunity. Your co-driver gets sick? Tell him to go puke and then get back in line at the next opportunity. We will attempt to keep breaks and downtime to a minimum.

"Rules"
No asshatery. Some basic "don't be a jackass" rules include the following:
-you start drinking you park your rig or drink somewhere else (no lenience here)
-all racing is to take place ON THE RACE COURSE, not in the parking lot or elsewhere
-no pit bikes, carts, rhinos, etc.
-no riding in the back of pickup trucks (everyone must have a seat belt on)
-EVERYONE must sign the proper paperwork to wheel or drive on our land
-All spectators must sign proper paperwork and pay $5 fee
-we do have neighbors believe or not close by and quite time is 11pm to 7am, if arriving before 7am, leave race motors off till that time.

Make NASA Rally Sport and Rausch Creek proud when it comes to what stickers you have on your car. Hitting an arrow is a 5 second penalty. Blowing through tape and breaking it is a 10 second penalty. Being a "jackass" warrants immediate expulsion from the event subject to the sole discretion of any Rausch Creek Staff or event organizer.

Multiple drivers sharing a single car (providing they both paid separately) is allowed. Roll cage and all safety gear required. Codrivers not required. Reg/Insurance not required. All entries/cars subject to approval by Anders and event organizer. There will be two classes, 2WD and AWD.

Ultra4 or non-Stage Rally "cars" not SCORE tagged must pass inspection by the Rausch Creek staff on hand who will administer tech according to the RC Rocks Race rules. This does not exempt these entries from meeting NASA personal safety rules including required HANS (or similar H&N restraint) device, firesuit and helmet.

Directions:
From PA Interstate 81 take Exit 107 (Tower City/Tremont). Make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 209 South heading towards Tower City. In the village of Joliett, make a left onto Joliett Street. Make another left onto Molleystown Road. Follow Molleystown Road until you see our entrance on the right. If using Mapquest, enter 453 Molleystown Road, Pine Grove, PA 17983 as your destination.
(see Rausch Creek Website for more directions)

Lodging:
The Rausch Creek website has various reccomendations on lodging that can be found here: http://www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.org/camp.php

Remember the Park does offer PRIMITIVE camping for those who chose to do so.
I can personally vouch for Comfort Inn at Exit 100 listed on that page. I have stayed there a number of times and it is a very commonly used hotel by individuals coming to the park. At this Comfort Inn exit there is also gas and food readily available. The closest gas to the park would be at Exit 104 vs. the Park's Exit 107. Wherever you choose to stay, make sure to mention Rausch Creek for special rates.
