NASA Rally Sport Announces 2014 Atlantic Rally Cup Schedule with New Event

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Raleigh, NC October 25, 2013

NASA Rally Sport is proud to present its 2014 schedule for the Atlantic Rally Cup, with the addition of a new event located in Michigan. This brings the series up to a total of six events spread throughout the year, all located in a comparatively confined geographic area.

Sandblast Rally 3/1/14 Cheraw, SC
Empire State Performance Rally 4/26/14 Rock Hill, NY
HyperFest RallySprint 6/7/14 Summit Point, WV
Magnum Opus Rally 6/21/14 Newberry, MI
Rally West Virginia 7/11/14 Snowshoe, WV
Black River Stages 9/20/14 Harrisville, NY

"Magnum Opus is certainly an interesting addition to a championship named after the Atlantic ocean." said Anders Green, the Eastern Director for NASA Rally Sport. "It turns out that Magnum Opus is actually closer to Black River Stages than Sandblast Rally is. The decision was really made when we looked at the racers who ran the 2013 ARC and found that a good measure of them them lived within a reasonable tow distance. Michigan seemed out of place at first, but the data looked good, and I can't argue with that. So now I'm getting excited!"

"The Magnum Opus Rally team is very excited to be part of NASA Rally Sports Atlantic Rally Cup series for 2014." said Tim Maskus, the chairman of the event. "Magnum Opus Rally will provide approximately seventy five stage miles again for 2014, with stage notes being available for the first time. Rewarding our drivers with Cup points and seeing our local drivers mixing it up with racers from further east is going to be fantastic. "

The Empire State Performance Rally, Rally West Virginia, and Black River Stages will continue their traditional two day format. HyperFest will again be a weekend of giving rides with a rally sprint, surrounded by festival of other activities at the track.

This year, 2013, the entire championship was supported by RallyPro at The Firm. The RallyPro Performance Driving School is the only driving school in the country to deliver true rally-based driver training and technique on tarmac, gravel and dirt surfaces, offering an unmatched, thrilling and complete driving experience. Their school offers a wide array of performance driving classes, going well beyond rally-specific training, to include on and off road SUV driving and ATV riding. With a staff of rally drivers from North America and abroad serving as your personal in-car and classroom instructors, and a curriculum designed to maximize time behind the wheel.

NASA Rally Sport, the grassroots rally sanctioning body in the US, focuses on competitor fun and providing support for rally organizers. Providing tools, technology, and systems to the organizers, racers, and fans to increase their enjoyment of rally is a core mission of NASA Rally Sport. Making sure that rally remains a sustainable and affordable passion for the drivers and organizers while building the family of racers and volunteers that make rally happen goes hand in hand with that mission.
